If you're not ASSESSING, you're GUESSING
Assessments are used both for treatments and in fitness - in fact; they go hand-in-hand with each other. Assessing is an excellent way of getting to the bottom of the client's issues; more common than not, the area of discomfort is a symptom rather than the cause, so we may have to work somewhere else to fix the issue. Do you have back pain? An assessment can show us whether the pain results from a bulged disc or lack of mobility from the hips or t-spine. There are instances where the client isn't feeling the symptoms of their issue during their appointment. Sometimes they suck at explaining what's going on, and an assessment can paint the picture for the therapist. I've said it before. Any health and fitness professional who doesn't assess their clients will most likely give a very generalized service. They could be doing things that aren't needed to focus more on what is required.
